Be open to learning about the connections between language and Canadian culture.

I have more than 30 years of ESL teaching experience. I hold a doctorate in Multicultural Education from the University of the Pacific, an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language from San Francisco State University, and a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley.

You will experience improvement in:

• Reading Skills
• Writing Skills (essays and papers)
• Listening Skills
• Speaking Skills (PowerPoint presentations)
Conversation Skills (workplace suggestions and feedback)
• Test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, CELPIP)

Learn how to edit your own writing to express yourself clearly. Become more aware of the differences between conversational English and written English.

I help people who are taking on-line courses, which are based completely on Canadian writing skills. Answering questions directly and staying on topic are very important.

Verb tenses are key in Canadian conversation and writing, because the sequence of events (past, present and future) is critical.
